Where you'll work?
You'll be based out of one of our 13 branches that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home if you like!). Specifically the Seattle Y has Kids U programs throughout the Seattle area. The programs are located in Seattle Public Schools and other community buildings. Programs use classrooms, multipurpose rooms, gyms, and outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities
What you'll be doing?
Every day hundreds of children participate in fun and engaging YMCA activities after school. Kids U is a set of enrichment classes such as art, sports, cooking, chess, and science. Children sign up for specific classes based on their interests and passions that are led by program instructors. Be part of an amazing team of staff who provide enrichment and recreation activities, teach teamwork and social skills, and support children as they grow and learn. You will plan and implement activities and step in as the lead onsite when the Program Supervisor is not present.

You are comfortable with individual youth and groups of children, can talk to and partner with parents and other adults, and have an interest in and aptitude for learning new ways to work with kids. You have an eye for quality programming and can build a sense of belonging with the groups you work with.
Qualifications
You are 21 years of age or older and should have:
2 years or more of experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching, etc.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
Experience planning and implementing group activities

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
